Brief Description

Pontypool Park is an early-19th-century landscape park with modern additions for leisure and recreation. There is a well-preserved 19th-century shell hermitage, and unusual twin icehouses of the same period. The northern section of the park is occupied by a large mid-19th-century arboretum.

History

The park was first laid out around 1703. The site went out of private use at the end of the 20th century, and is now a public open space.
